Sketch

A sketch can be a valuable tool when describing and locating areas on your woodland. Often a landowner will develop many different sketches of the same woodlot to be used for various purposes.

Information which may be included:

  • woodlot boundaries
  • stand boundaries
  • roads and trails
  • lakes and streams
  • stream crossings
  • wetlands
  • special management zones
  • wildlife corridors
  • raptor/heron nests
  • cavity and snag trees
  • deer wintering areas
  • ecologically sensitive areas
  • areas of interest to other users
